There was a young woman named Maria who went to Canada to be a caregiver.

Before she went abroad, she taken care of an elder man who have the cursed called "aswang". When the old man died, he passed his cursed to Maria.

Finding no luck in Canada, Maria went home. One night, when her husband a policeman went home. He was looking for their kids and he finds Maria eat their children.

Enraged, her husband struck her with a bolo ("labo") where she obtained a scar on her face, so they called her a Maria Labo.

She fled to Luzon, Visayasand Mindanao, to feed her hunger for human flesh and viscera. Like a typical aswang, she has the ability to change her appearance. She become a beautiful woman at other times, she appears as an old woman.

An "aswang" called Maria Labo...
